Zazzle - Print on demand

If you have a flare for fashion or love to make up witty saying, Zazzle may just be the right place for you.

You can add your designs to just about anything you can imagine. Shoes, bags, hats, and skateboards are just a few of the items. Of course they do also have the usual items for print on demand like shirts, posters, and calendars.

On the Zazzle site, you can find the templates for the various items that are available to create. Start with one of these and make any design you want. Although I use and prefer Photoshop, you can use any program capable of make a graphic design that you are comfortable with.

Upload your design to their site through their easy to use dashboard. Once you have done that, the rest is pretty much fill in the blank. You decided what type of item to make with your design. Add some text and background if you like. Position the image you created with their intuitive tools and click the "post for sale" button at the bottom of the page.

All that's left is just filling in the form with the title, key words, and description. Select a category and you are on your way. When an items sells, you get a royalty for it. The standard is 10% but if you want, you can change it to whatever you like above that.

Zazzle has many different user tools for promoting your items. You can create a flash panel to display your most recent or popular items like this one:

You can also promote other people's items you like and get a referral bonus even if you don't create any of your own items. One idea I saw that seemed to be very successful was to promote selections from the many profile and business cards they have available.

Zazzle really does have many different opportunities for just about anyone, designer or not, to make some side income.

In the Beginning....

In recent times, the economy has taken a turn for the worse. Many people are feeling the crunch in their daily lives more than ever. Constantly, we are hearing of more and more business, sometimes big names even, closing their doors or selling out or declaring bankruptcy.

Because of this, more and more people are looking for other ways to generate some extra income. diversity is the key to a stable income in such shaky times. If you lose one form of income, its better to have several others to cushion the impact. This is why I started this blog, to help others find these hidden opportunities that they may not otherwise know are out there.

I plan to keep this updated regularly with various kinds of opportunities as I find them and research them. I want to give people as much information as I can about each one so they may make an informed decision as to if it really is right for them or not.

No, I am not going to be promoting all of those 'get rich quick' ideas that are out there. The opportunities I want to focus on are ones that with hard work and dedication can make some real income. Some of these may be things that anyone can do. some may require specific skills like photography of writing and may only be for a few readers. I'll try to keep a broad focus on any opportunity I may find.

So seeing as this is my first post, I'll focus on this as a possible money-making venture - blogging.

BLOGGING - What is blogging? Well basically, is it writing about something you find interesting and you may thing other will as well. You can blog about anything really. If you find it interesting, chances are someone else out there will too.

There are many places out there to put you blog. You can put it anywhere you like. Your own site, a free site, someone else's site (with permission, of course), or one of the blog hosting sites out there. Blogger, where this blog is hosted, is just one of many different places to put your blog.

First thing I did was to set up a new email account just for this blog. This is simply so that if for some reason you get a lot of spam from you blog, it does not go into your personal email and clog it up.

So how does writing about what you like make you money? On the internet today, traffic equal money. The larger following you get, the more money you can receive from your traffic. You can post affiliate links to places that have products you like. What I have done with this one, is to allow Google ads to be placed with my blog.

As far as generating traffic for your new blog..I'll have to get back to you on that one. I'm still new at the blogging thing and I'm learning about it myself.
